Applied Chemometrics
Chemometrics has been the backbone of most of ACABS activities since the group was founded. Working in all three main directions of Applied Chemometrics – sampling, data analysis and experimental design, the active and former members have made significant contributions to chemometrics with more than 150 publications, 200+ lectures, presentations, M.Sc. and Ph.D.s.
ACABS contribute to spreading chemometrics worldwide a.o. having been helpful in founding two new national societies – in Russia and South Africa. A long and intimate collaboration with the Russian Chemometrics Society has resulted in the biannual “Winter Symposium on Chemometrics” which has developed into international an event in its own right.
Current activities center on new areas, such as multivariate image analysis (MIA) and textures characterization (AMT), representative sampling (TOS), process analytical technology (PAT)and acoustic chemometrics, the latter headed by collaboration with ACRG, Telemark University, Norway.
