After more than 20 years at Aalborg University Esbjerg, associate professor Lars P. Houmøller decided that enough was enough and transferred directly to industry (Arla Food, Denmark). Lars gave his last lecture, appropriately in chemomertrics, in June 2007 in which he was warmly acknowledged by his last students. As a token that his ACABS days were permanently over, he donated the emblem of his many teaching responsibilities to prof. Kim H. Esbensen, leader of ACABS.
Lars has been responsible for developing more than 10 courses at all graduate levels and having supervised an unbelievable 20 B.Sc and 50 M.Sc. theses. During his tenure at AAUE he organized the best equipped chemical analytical laboratory in the country (chemical engineering students meet 15 different analytical modalities).
