Casper Dahl

Casper started as one of the two first Ph.D. students at ACABS Research Group (summer 2001). His Ph.D. study was focused on understanding the concepts behind applied Multivariate Image Analysis and ultimately combining MIA with representative sampling. A part of the Ph.D. included building an image laboratory from scratch. From 2004 to 2006 Casper worked on various industry-related projects – mostly focusing on applied image analysis/NIR and the Theory of Sampling. In January 2008 he defended his Ph.D. Since 2006 Casper has been employed as Quality specialist in Quality Assurance at Fertin Pharma A/S, where he is responsible for raw material quality. His job includes all aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing – ranging from daily troubleshooting to defining quality procedures into developing the pharmaceutical products of tomorrow.

Lars Houmøller

Lars worked at Aalborg University, Esbjerg for more than 20 years, in which time he was responsible for aprox. 10 different courses at B.Sc and M.Sc level, with a strong focus on NIR (theory and application) and chemometrics, supervisng 20 B.Sc. and more than 75 M.Sc. Two years in a row, Lars was designated as "Teacher of the year" at Aalborg university. From 2007 he now works as a research scientist at Arla Foods Global Ingredients R&D. Primary interests are Analytical chemistry (especially spectroscopy), chemometrics, design of experiments, quality control.

Lars Petersen Julius

Lars started out as one of the two first Ph.D. students at the start of ACABS (summer 2001). He defended his Ph.D. in February 2005. During his tenure he participated significantly with extensive teaching, supervison, scientific and social activities in both ACABS as well as institute level. Lars is now working as a chemist at Dong Energy Power, Fredericia, in the Chemistry & Materials department, where he is in charge of quality assurance of control laboratories and supports chemical method development. He is also coordinating "Analysis and sampling", a support group for the entire company, and participates in numerous development- and research projects.

Carina Juel Lomborg

ACABS Ph.D. student and research associate in the period 2004—2009. Scientific interests are Fermentation technology, bioenergy, chemometrics and multivariate data analysis, and process analytical technologies.

Peter Paasch Mortensen

Peter was ACABS' first industry Ph.D. student, in the period 2002—2006. While his Ph.D. work was carried out at Novozymes, Kalundborg (at the quality control laboratory), pioneering an effective industry-university collaboration format, Peter also found ways to contribute strongly to the group scientific and social activities. Peters continues to work at Novozymes, primarily with evaluation of enzyme production using various chemometric and representative sampling tools. Sensor technologies such as FTIR, FTNIR, fluorescense spectroscopy, acoustic emission monitoring and multivariate image analysis are the typical choice of instrumentation.
